CNBM Showcases Advanced Materials and Signs Cooperation Deals at CIIE

On November 5, the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai, Li Qiang, Premier of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. China National Building Materials Group (CNBM) participated as a prominent member of the central state-owned enterprises delegation, displaying its recent developments in new materials and advanced manufacturing.

In collaboration with its international partners, CNBM exhibited technologies in thin-film solar cells and building-integrated photovoltaics, pharmaceutical glass, and mining equipment. Its domestic companies also presented more than 50 high-tech new materials, including fiberglass products and ultra-thin flexible (UTG) glass.

CNBM’s overseas subsidiaries delivered on-site business presentations. Marko Stoelzel, Head of R&D at Avancis GmbH, outlined pathways for deploying high-efficiency tandem thin-film photovoltaic technologies to support carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. Bastian Siepchen, CEO of CTF Solar GmbH, presented thin-film solar technologies, while Markus Ehret, CFO of Singulus Technologies Group, introduced the Group’s core products and main businesses.

Leveraging CIIE’s international procurement and cooperation platform, CNBM held multiple signing ceremonies, finalizing cooperation agreements with universities and international companies across various sectors.

Avancis signed a cooperation agreement with the research team led by Professor Peng Yong at Wuhan University of Technology to jointly advance the R&D of CIGS-perovskite tandem solar cell technology and enhance conversion efficiency.

Dassault Systems entered into a cooperation agreement with the CNBM Glass New Material Research Institute to deepen collaboration in digital twin technologies and drive system upgrades.

Meanwhile, CTF Solar signed an agreement with SunHydrogen, Inc. to accelerate technological breakthroughs in hydrogen production using cadmium telluride (CdTe) power-generating glass and expand application scenarios.

This year’s CIIE attracted participants from 155 countries, regions, and international organizations. With 4,108 overseas companies exhibiting across more than 430,000 square meters, the event set record highs for both exhibition space and the number of exhibitors.
